Step 1 - Positions. When meditating, you can sit in different ways to stay comfortable and focused. You can sit cross-legged on the floor, either in a simple cross-legged position or in a traditional lotus or half-lotus pose. If sitting on the floor is uncomfortable, you can sit on a cushion or a chair with your feet flat on the ground. Some people also meditate kneeling on a cushion with their legs folded under them. The most important thing is to keep your back straight, shoulders relaxed, and hands resting comfortably on your lap or knees.

visualizations

Step 2 - Visualization. Visualization during meditation is a technique where you use your imagination to create calming images or scenes in your mind. You might picture a peaceful beach, a quiet forest, or a glowing light filling your body with warmth. Focusing on these images can help you relax, reduce stress, and stay present. Visualization also encourages positive thinking and can make your meditation practice more engaging and enjoyable.

mindfulness

Step 3 - Mindfulness. Mindfulness during meditation is the practice of gently focusing your attention on the present moment, without judgment. As you observe your breath, bodily sensations, or thoughts, you learn to notice them as they arise and pass, rather than getting caught up in them. This calm awareness helps cultivate clarity, emotional balance, and a deeper sense of inner peace that can extend beyond meditation into everyday life.
